According to the ministry, this official visit is part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two neighboring nations.
During this meeting, Kayikwamba Wagner delivered a personal message from the Congolese President, Félix Tshisekedi, to his Tanzanian counterpart. While the precise content of this message has not been disclosed, sources close to the discussions suggest it could concern major regional issues, notably security in the eastern DRC and peace efforts in the Great Lakes region.
The meeting also addressed bilateral cooperation between the DRC and Tanzania, two countries linked by a common border and shared economic and strategic interests.
“For us in Tanzania, the DRC is and remains a special neighbor and partner,” declared an official Tanzanian source at the end of the meeting, underscoring the importance of this relationship.
This visit comes at a time when the DRC is seeking to consolidate its regional alliances, especially in light of ongoing tensions with some neighbors and the security crisis in the eastern provinces of the country.
Tanzania, an influential member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), plays a key role in regional stabilization initiatives.
This meeting demonstrates the desire of both countries to maintain an active and constructive dialogue.
