Other East African Heads of Stat including the host Uhuru Kenyatta, Yoweri Museveni (Uganda) and Paul Kagame (Rwanda) will be attending the meeting.
The meeting is a follow-up of the mini-summit that the regional leaders held two weeks ago. They are meeting to discuss the security situation in eastern DR Congo.
According to the Congolese president’s communication office, “during their last quadripartite meeting which took place early April at State House in Nairobi, the four heads of state had made a commitment to meet again in a fortnight to continue their discussions, associating the President of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye on the thorny issue of insecurity in the region, particularly in the eastern border provinces of the DRC”.
