Landed in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 05 at the Mavivi national airport, Lt Gen Christian Chiwewe Songesha, chief commander of the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, accompanied by his colleague Wilson Mbasu Masudi, chief commander of the Ugandan army “UPDF”, are in Beni.
The latter were welcomed by the military governor of the North Kivu province, Lt Gen Constant Ndima Kongba and various other political, administrative and military authorities.
Speaking about their arrivals, Captain Antony Mwalushayi, spokesman for the operational sector sokola1 far north, affirmed that they are in a mission to evaluate the operations “Ushujaa”, executed by FARDC-UPDF in the territories of Beni in North Kivu and Irumu in Ituri against the ADF.
“The two generals chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda namely Christian Chiwewe and Wilson Mbasu Masudi Kisumu of Uganda arrived in Beni to evaluate the joint operations between the two armies FARDC and UPDF. You know, it’s being more than a year that the two armies are in a part of the province of North Kivu and Ituri,” explained Antony Mwalushayi.
He continues that after the evaluation, the analyzes on the positives and negatives will finally proceed to know other strategies to face these bloodthirsty.
Note that this coalition is fighting the Ugandan terrorist rebels of Allied Democratic Force “ADF” since November 2021.
