As in all other cities, either urban and territorial, in the province of South Kivu, the city of Kamituga in the territory of Mwenga is not spared from insecurity.
Newly created, the city of Kamituga is facing several cases of insecurity, which continue to be as a game and it has been now 3 years since it was created.
In this new city, goods are carried away, houses are visited, men of God were targeted, people are injured and others killed by unidentified armed people.
According to some residents of this environment, in the space of five days, at least 5 families were visited by the bandits. In these 5 families visited by the thugs, one person lost his life by gunshot in the Kalingi district.
The most recent case is that which occurred on Monday April 18, 2022 around 7 PM. when the convent of the priests of the Catholic parish of Tangila was visited by these same bandits in the middle of the rain.
Despite their courage to try how to operate in these houses of the priests in the rain, the executioners had not succeeded in gaining access to the enclosure of this convent following the alerts of the neighbouring population.
The populations of the city of Kamituga and the territory of Mwenga complain that insecurity has become commonplace in the middle of the fact that according to them, it is not normal to operate in an entity 5 days successive.
As a result, the latter call on the authorities of the city of Kamituga and those of the province of South-Kivu having security in their attributions to get involved in the emergency so that peace returns to this part of the Province.
They also ask the Head of State, Félix Tchisekedi Tshilombo to get involved in the transfer of the soldiers of the city of Kamituga, because they explain our sources, the soldiers of this corner of the territory of Mwenga have become like customary chiefs.
According to the same sources, a soldier cannot exceed three years in an entity without being transferred to another region.
It should be remembered that it is about 2 months since this same convent of priests of the parish of Tangila was attacked by bandits by shooting a priest in the legs but he remaining alive.
The uncivil still difficult for them to access the facilities of this convent, they would have come to collect the money from Caritas, which is intended for the teachers of the entity.
