According to several sources, on March 30, the rebels of March 23 would have all emptied the areas they occupying in the territories of Rutshuru and Masisi, and left them under the control of the regional army of the EAC.
The latter have only liberated the city of Mweso in Masisi territory to settle in the locality of Muhongozi 2kms from Mweso.
The sources concordant with those of a notable and human rights defender from the Rutshuru territory, inform that these allied of the president Paul Kagame have left the Bambo groupment including the Kishishe region giving way to the FARDC to control this zone.
For the case of the border City of Bunagana, only the entry of the Ugandan army UPDF troops on behalf of the EAC, is confirmed and not the withdrawal of the M23.
“We confirm the presence of soldiers of the EAC/RF wearing the military uniforms of the Ugandan army UPDF.
